Digital Construction Technologies
WEBINARS
Construct Innovate and Engineers Ireland West region are delighted to bring to members a free webinar series on the topic of Digital Construction Technologies, taking place each Tuesday from 12-1pm for 6 weeks commencing on the 5th November 2024.
This topic will cover the use of data in the construction industry, which includes broad areas of building information modelling (BIM) technology, digital twinning, simulation and visualisation methods.
Digitalisation fundamentally changes the ways in which construction teams interact. Technologies such as BIM can seamlessly monitor the materials and products delivered to the construction site, in a manner that respects the need for sustainability and traceability. Sensors provide data for digital twins and their incorporation into construction elements; while augmented reality technologies are beginning to be used for site inspections, allowing continuous monitoring of construction process and conducting quality control checks with greater ease.
This series aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
