Construct Innovate webinars on
Digital Construction Technologies
This topic covers the use of data in the construction industry, which includes broad areas of building information modelling (BIM) technology, digital twinning, simulation and visualisation methods. Digitalisation fundamentally changes the ways in which construction teams interact. Technologies such as BIM can seamlessly monitor the materials and products delivered to the construction site, in a manner that respects the need for sustainability and traceability. Sensors provide data for digital twins and their incorporation into construction elements; while augmented reality technologies are beginning to be used for site inspections, allowing continuous monitoring of the construction process and conducting quality control checks with greater ease. Topics covered in this module include:
- Digital Adoption in the Construction Industry (7th November 2023)
- Digital Platforms (14th November 2023)
- Artificial Intelligence, Virtual and Augmented Reality and 3D Scanning (21st November 2023)
- Digital Project Delivery (28th November 2023)
- Simulation for Better Performance (5th December 2023)
- Digital Buildings and Communities (12th December 2023)
The module aligns with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
